About Us

Our Organisation
The Centre for Gender, Peace & Governance-Africa (CGPG-Africa) is a regional organization started in 2015 by a group of peacebuilding and gender practitioners with years of practical and theoretical knowledge in areas that are relevant in addressing challenges experienced by practitioners in conflict and post conflict settings in Africa and beyond. As an organization, our key objectives are to contribute to the designing, implementation and evaluation of projects and programmes that address sustainable peace, gender equity and multiplication of conflict transformation skills and knowledge. CGPG-Africa strives to strengthen capacities of practitioners and organizations working in both conflict and post-conflict settings so that their programming is more responsive to the needs in their contexts. Currently, the organization focusses on conflict and post conflict countries in the larger Horn of Africa, Greater Great Lakes region and Eastern Africa. Our key associates have been involved in the designing and implementation of peacebuilding programs and processes, livelihood support, gender mainstreaming, conflict sensitivity in various contexts as well as designing and facilitating trainings in various peacebuilding institutes in Africa, Asia, the Pacific and North America.
